Bar Furniture

Whether your bar is part of your entertainment center or you want to set up an intimate bar on your patio, there are different styles of bar furniture to fit every taste and space requirement.

If your bar furniture is part of your game room, make it fit in with your billiard scheme and find a bar that matches the wood of your pool table. You might even select benches in the same shade of green as the pool table. Make your game table part of your bar furniture scheme by adding small, marble topped tables on the side for drinks or finding a game table that has padded sections built into the table itself for cocktails or beers.

Perhaps you prefer a saloon right out of the Old West. When you shop for bar furniture, look for a large oak bar with ornate carvings, perhaps of grape clusters and vines, a mirror with bold red and white saloon writing on it. Find some high-backed swivel chairs with red leather seats and an old-fashioned player piano with Oscar Wilde’s favorite sign above it “Don’t shoot the piano player, he’s trying the best he can!”

Perhaps you prefer a European style bar with a touch of class. Your bar furniture should be subtle and stylish. High cherry wood tables with marble tops are a good choice. The seating should be for two, and the chairs should also be cherry with leather seats. The bar itself, since it is not the center of attention, can be understated yet elegant in cherry wood with lighted glass shelves behind it to display bottles.

Art deco bar furniture is readily available in second hand stores and consists of bold, geometric lines and solid colors with chrome accents. Your bar can be a slab of fine maple with a hidden shelf for drinks, egg cup leather chairs with chrome trim and dramatic art deco light fixtures.
