Furniture Store

There are as many kind of furniture store as there are kinds of furniture. Children’s furniture stores abound, because, as kids grow, they are in need of bigger and better bedrooms or a bunk to share a room with their siblings. A used furniture store is a great place to find children’s furniture and office furniture. If you are shopping for your office and need to buy cubicles, desks, chairs and computer tables, there are many liquidation places that buy up used office furniture from companies that have gone out of business. Sometimes it is possible to furnish an entire office while finding the used furniture from another office at the furniture store or warehouse.

If you prefer buying wholesale, there are huge import/export furniture stores, many of which specialize in Asian antiques and Indonesian teak furniture. You can find many great deals in places like this, although it is quite easy to overspend while being tempted by the relatively low prices. Also be on the lookout for minor defects, since wholesale furniture stores rarely have return policies.

Antique furniture stores vary according to what period of antiques and the quality of antiques they sell. Some sell tables and chairs that are centuries old at premium prices. Some furniture stores sell art deco pieces that could just as easily be found in regular second hand furniture stores. It is worth investigating to find the fairest price and to keep in mind that the antique dealers go hunting for their treasures too.

Amish furniture stores abound in the Midwest where there are small Amish communities. Many of these Amish furniture stores are meant to cater to tourists, and the prices are inflated far above what they should be. It is also important to check that what is being referred to as Amish furniture is not really Amish “style” furniture. Often, furniture stores are not asked to define their terms and an unsuspected customer can shell out a lot of money for an “Amish” piece that was not even made by an Amish craftsman.

Wherever you decide to go shopping, you’ll want to visit several furniture stores to find the look that is right for your home.
